EXCLUSIVE: Abhishek Bachchan opens up on Mani Ratnam recasting him in multiple films; says, “He sees something in me”

Abhishek Bachchan has collaborated with esteemed directors such as Mani Ratnam, Ram Gopal Varma, and Shoojit Sircar. His performance in his recently released film I Want to Talk received widespread acclaim.

Directors like Mani Ratnam frequently cast Abhishek Bachchan in their films. In a recent interview, Abhishek recalled how Mani Ratnam called him a few months after shooting Yuva and asked, “Are you ready?” When Abhishek replied, “Ready for what?”, Mani Ratnam simply responded, “For another one.”

Reflecting on the moment, Abhishek Bachchan shared, “I was thrilled. I believe Mani Ratnam sees something in me that I don’t recognise in myself. He empowers me so much that by the next project, I’m even better prepared. I consider this a true blessing for us actors.”

It’s important to note that Abhishek Bachchan and Mani Ratnam have collaborated on two films: Yuva (2004) and Guru (2007). Both movies earned widespread praise for Abhishek’s performances, and he received multiple award nominations for his roles.
